SUBMISSIONS

Backyard Media Group happily accepts submissions of photography, video and written work. Before contacting us, we  ask that you read our Backyard Media Group channels and understand our style and content. Backyard Media Group will not accept submissions that have been previously published elsewhere.

We get a large number of emails from people wanting to contribute, so please help us by including a few short details about yourself and why you are getting in touch – where you are from, what your background is and how you think your talents, skills or products are suited to our publication and its readers.

Writers

Backyard Media Group primarily publishes feature articles, however we will occasionally accept editorial pieces if they fit in with the overall tone of our publication. We spotlight artists and organisations, local initiatives and interesting people, as well as unique facets of the global urban cultural landscape. If you have an idea for a specific article, or pitch, then please email samples of your work. Please keep emails brief and clear and attachments as simple as possible (a simple .doc format or PDF is preferred).

Photographers & Stylists

If you feel you could contribute, please email us with ideas and/or samples of your work. We also accept a limited number of submissions. If you have done a shoot that you think may suit Backyard Media Group channels, then by all means feel free to contact us with some sample shots and details of the shoot – including the brands/clothing, the model’s age and the location of the shoot. The submission will not be considered without these details.  Please upload work to Dropbox and forward us the link. Do not attach images within an email.

Unfortunately, due to the volume of emails we receive, it isn’t possible for us to reply to everyone or provide feedback for all submissions we receive. However, we do thank you for thinking of us and contacting us – any support is greatly appreciated!
