Vivid Sydney 2018 Delivers A Massive Music Selection for its 10th Anniversary


Vivid has announced its 2018 music line-up featuring an eclectic array of artists with the likes of Solange, Cat Power, Ice Cube and Dreams (A collaboration between Daniel Johns and Luke Steele) gracing the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall.  

There will be plenty to see beyond The Opera House with psych-rockers The Brian Jonestown Massacre performing at The Metro and a programme of events at Carriageworks in Redfern headlined by St Vincent. Curve Ball festival will also be returning to Carriageworks featuring Alison Wonderland, Vera Blue, Crooked Colours, FlexMami and more for an immersive musical and visual experience.  

Looking beyond the big names you’ll find a diverse selection of interesting acts sure to please just about any music fan.

Sydney’s LGBTIQA+ community will be well represented through a host of events. Heaps Gay will be taking over the Sydney  Town Hall for Sydney’s grandest queer party - The Qween’s Ball, while legendary party night Club Kooky will be taking over the pop up nightclub at the Studio for two nights.

The Studio will also host a slew of parties from the who’s who of the Sydney music scene. Astral People will be hosting New York legend Danny Krivit and Lord of the Isles brings his live set to Sydney for Mad Racket.

A special show will take place featuring up and coming producer Kuren and Electric Fields, a duo who blend traditional culture and electronic music,  performing songs in the indigenous languages Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara.

For the alternative music fan, Repressed Records will be returning to the Opera House and Fugazi’s Guy Picciotto will be doing a Q&A following a screening of the band’s “Instrument” documentary.

Once again Vivid will team up with venues all across Sydney as the likes of Freda’s, Venue 505 and Harpoon Harry host parties, live performances and light shows.
