Bad Friday Weekender Adds Sixteen More Artists
Bad Friday recently made the huge announcement that it will be extending from a one-day festival to a two-day, but keen fans would have picked up on the small, albeit packed, line-up. Their prayers have been answered as Sydney’s only two-day festival has announced a second stage, adding sixteen more artists to the event. If last year’s event is anything to go off, there may still be more announcements coming, but for the time being these awesome acts are more than enough to satisfy Sydneysiders.
The Friday, April 10th, will host names like the newly formed The Melodrones, Japanese punk band 50/50s and the chaotically unpredictable Private Function. For rock fans, Aussie veterans Bad//Dreems will be sure to leave the mosh pit sweaty and saw. Hot off a stellar performance at Laneway earlier this month, Spacey Jane are looking to keep the momentum going and deliver another killer set. On the Saturday will be disco DJs Groove City as well as Late Nite Tuff Guy. The beats will keep going as dance group The Goods and producer/rapper duo Slim Set make their presence known. For those who want some easy and accessible pop, FBi sensation A.Girl and the melancholic Lola Scott will also be appearing. Backyard Opera’s personal recommendation for the Saturday is the recently added Planet Vegeta, who’s hip/hop, funk and soul hybrid track “Jorja” landed them Release of the Week a few months ago.
These incredible acts will be joining the already jam packed line-up, which includes the likes of Cosmo’s Midnight, who are fresh off the release of a collaborative single with Ruel, Hayley Mary, a Bad Friday veteran under the Jezabels, and the band Backyard Opera is most excited for, experimental punk rockers Shady Nasty.
