Vivid has well and truly begun and we’re more than happy to let it take over our social calendar with all the amazing food, drinks and events it’s bringing to Sydney’s shores. Have a cat nap or have a coffee and wake up refreshed for some big nights out in good old Sydney town.
EAT: Silvester Restaurant Vivid 2018

This year, restaurants all around the city are joining in the fun and adding a fine dining aspect to your typical Vivid night out. Silvester Restaurant is one of the gourmet watering holes catering to the hungry Vivid-goer who wants to add a touch of class to their evening, offering a set 2 course meal curated by Michelin Star-experienced chefs from a bespoke menu of contemporary Australian cuisine. SEE: Hold Still: The Photographic Performance
Photography has become an inescapable facet of our lives since the humble camera phone put a high quality camera in everyone’s pockets and it has impacted the way in which we hold and see ourselves. Hold Still is an exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW that draws on the gallery’s collection of portrait photography to deconstruct how lenses have changed the way we act. The exhibition looks at the way that the camera acts as a silent choreographer that dictates movement. The exhibit is free and runs until July 29.
DRINK: Goldie’s Music Hall
The iconic Concert Hall Northern Foyer at the Opera House has been transformed by the Midnight Special guys into a portal to the golden era of the 60s and 70s, when soul, RnB and funk tunes reigned supreme. A perfect place to get excited for a big night full of Vivid glory, or a place to relax and party after you see the sights, Goldie’s Music hall will be serving cocktails inspired by the golden years and boasts a drink list championing local brewers such as Grifter Brewing Co, Young Henrys and Archie Rose.
