This Weekend in Sydney

With Sydney Festival running throughout the month, there are a stack of events and sideshows to get around and see. Combine that with a few lazy drinking sessions and massive art installations and you’ve got yourself another weekend in Sydney.

Using a spray gun, and a load of fabric, German artist Katharina Grosse has transformed the Carriageworks into a kaleidoscopic universe of vivid colours. The painted fabric is draped over the walls at and folded over itself to create a world of colour that you can walk through for free.  To check it out, click the link below:

See: Circus City Parramatta

Circus City is rolling in to Parramatta’s Prince Alfred Square.  Performances and workshops including the Highly Sprung show, a multi-level trampolining act. After the show, even you can get on and have a go. The best part is its all free as part of Sydney Festival. For more information click the link below.

Sip: Campfire Sessions Cockatoo Island

Held on Cockatoo Island are some of Sydney’s best home-grown acoustic music. Programed by music venue, 505 it’s the perfect spot to watch the sun set, with a glass of wine in your hand, and a cheeseboard that you can pick up  in a it beforehand. To find out more click the link below.

Sip some more: Batch Session feat. Andy Golledge Band

The Batch Brewing Company has pulled together a great line up of local folk, alt-country and Americana acts for their Batch Sessions launch. Come down to the Factory Theatre Courtyard, which has been transformed into a beer garden with a stage. It will also be your first chance to have Batches newest brew, ‘Pash the Magic Dragon’.
