Song for the Mute Puts a Contemporary Spin on the Samba and Tokyo Classics

Three years in, the collaboration between Song for the Mute and adidas continues to push creative boundaries. Returning to Paris Fashion Week, the Australian label and German sportswear giant revealed two bold new silhouettes: the SFTM-008 and SFTM-009.

Staying true to their numbered series, the SFTM-008 reimagines the Tokyo sneaker with a nostalgic twist, channelling childhood memories of school gym shoes. The design features punchy colour blocking across nylon and mesh uppers, blending playfulness with a retro edge.

Meanwhile, the SFTM-009 reinvents the Samba as the Samba LX Freizeit, a more refined, dressier take on the classic. Constructed in deep brown and black leather, it pairs a stitched leather upper with a derby-style sole, evoking formal school shoes through a streetwear lens.

No official release dates have been announced yet, but the SFTM-008 and SFTM-009 are expected to land in Spring/Summer 2026 via Song for the Mute, adidas, and selected global retailers. Stay tuned for more visuals and launch info.
