The colour, the air, the dust. The night before, the day of, the morning after.

While the memories might have faded, the image remains. To start off our roll of the Week series we take a look back on the weekend that Backyard Opera was transported to North Byron Parklands for the eighteenth instalment of Splendour in The Grass. After being ensconced in the whirlwind of it all we’ve now had some time to sit and reflect on what a festival that was. Moments when the light shone down, illuminating Angus Stone; seconds when a fan and Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand seemed to scream in unison; the pause before the first lyrics are uttered into the mic and the silence after the last strum of the guitar.
