On a chilly June evening in the depths of Carriageworks’ echoing halls, Annie Clark, aka St Vincent, walks onto the stage, in big pink boots, a pink leather body suit and fishnet stockings. Backed by a large LED light screen (marking the concert as part of the closing night of Vivid 2018), her costume choices would be a bold choice for anyone but St Vincent. The power and control that she exudes on the stage is commanding, her confidence amplified like the notes from her electric guitar to the hordes of adoring fans. A concert in two sets, her costume change signifies the switch to her new album, Massseduction. An exciting and energetic performer, St Vincent was the perfect send off to a landmark Vivid season.
