In the Ponch music video directed by Sophia de Vries we are transported to a dystopian futuristic world where Artificial Intelligence humanoids have become apart of our everyday culture. Astra lives in an underground society of washed up AI that have been replaced by upgraded models. The music video teeters between Lynchian aesthetics and the stylistic grandeur of The Fifth Element.
'Ponch' is the melding minds of the two electronic artists Dane Joe and Acute. Dane Joe aka Adi Kum grew up in Jerusalem but resides in Berlin. Dane Joe's hauntingly beautiful mumbling vocals take us on a dark ethereal journey down the rabbit hole of her avant-guarde nightmares creating her own genre of twisted, dark, electronic ambient-pop. Acute aka Andrei Acute Schneider was born in Ukraine and now lives in the city of Tel Aviv. Acute's electronic music is a fusion of his passion for early new wave artists, Autechre and the baroquish nature of IDM.
