BYO Culture Guide April 22 – 28

This week we’re highlighting some of the ways that artists seek to engage their audience. Whether through talks, performance or mail, artists are breaking out of the white cube and inviting into a dialogue with them.

Kudos Live: Intimate Circulation

Curated by Audrey Pfister and Em Size and part of Kudos Gallery’s program, this month four artists will mail out their work to those who register before 11.59pm, April 24. Dealing with relationships, familial, sexual and more, each of the artists has composed a work that can be individually sent to an audience member, some via email, others physical mail. April At Firstdraft

This month’s exhibitors at Firstdraft in Woolloomooloo will involve themselves with their art and their audience in a series of talk. Held monthly, the artists talks at Firstdraft offer a way for audiences to develop a deeper communication with the artworks and the artists who’ve produced them. This month’s program includes works engaging with diasporic identity, physical and virtual detritus and an immersive, scent based exhibition by Sundari Carmody.
