An iconic Australian brand partner with the Australian Open, Ellery moving to haute couture and a sale at Parlour X in Paddington with up to 70% off – Weekly Collection #7.

Country Road will design Australian Open 2018 Uniforms

Australian clothing and lifestyle brand, Country Road, has been announced as an official fashion partner of the Australian Open 2018. This means that most staff of the tournament – management, drivers, medical teams and umpires – will be dressed in the quintessentially Australian brand.

Not only will staff be able to dress in the brand – a shop will be set up within the grounds of the tournament next January. Offerings will include their iconic logo tote, personalisation included, as well as items from the relaunch of their heritage collection.

Fashion Calendar Changes for Ellery

Australian designer Kym Ellery is now sitting amongst the likes of Karl Lagerfield and Elie Saab as her brand becomes a member of the Federation de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. This honour means that as of January 2018, Ellery will now be presenting its runway collections during haute couture Paris Fashion Week. This comes as many designers, including Ellery, have made the industry aware of the strain of presenting four collections per year for ready-to-wear. Haute couture means that only two collections per year are expected, allowing more time to go into the creative process – something that Kym Ellery has expressed her gratitude for.

The brand is also expected to be launching a new commercial strategy in January 2018.

CFDA announce amalgamation of men’s and women’s NYFW

The Council of Fashion Designers America have announced that as of New York Fashion Week 2018 in February, men’s autumn/winter ready-to-wear collections will be presented at the same time as women’s collections.  This alters the usual fashion week schedule – with the proceedings upgrading from 7 to 10 days. The change aims to bring more attention to men’s fashion, with hopes that those visiting for women’s ready-to-wear will be more responsive to menswear designers, growing that facet of the industry. Men’s shows will be presented from February 5th until February 7th, with women’s showing from February 8th to February 16th.
