Acne Studios Are Up for Sale

It’s been reported that Swedish fashion house, Acne Studios, have been collaborating with American investment bank, Goldman Sachs to source a buyer. The brand has grown significantly between 2013 and 2016 – its turnover reportedly doubled to 200 million euros a year – and it continues to grow exponentially. Since its inception in 1997, the brand has grown from specialising in denim to becoming a worldwide luxury label. It’s predicted that the company could be sold for any amount between 400 to 500 million euros. It’s expansion from the European to Asian market has placed it in the ideal space for growth in the realm of luxury fashion – with each region furthering worldwide expansion and profit growth.
Jonny Johansson and Mikael Schiller, co-founders of the brand, haven’t commented on their decision to put the brand on the market. It has been reported that they both plan to stay involved with the brand, even after its sale.
