Turning a former paint factory in Waterloo into a house of mates, brews and tunes, JJ’s Place is bringing together the good things in life for an experience to savour. With food provided by Continental Deli and Frankie’s Pizza by the slice, and a sound track courtesy of Sloan Peterson and Delta Riggs it was left to Jameson to deliver the drinks. Of course, on this front, the distillers from Ireland did not disappoint. Taking mateship to heart, Jameson had teamed up with Young Henrys for a series of beer and whiskey concoctions that were refreshing yet full in flavour.
However, the night was not just fun and games. Head cooper Ger Buckley lead a lesson in how the imported American casks give off their signature flavour to Jameson whiskey. For those lucky enough to secure one of the coveted tasting spots, master distiller Brian Nation led a masterclass in aroma and flavour notes. Reinforcing the overall tone of the night, Nation noted that there’s no one way to drink Jameson, rather one should “drink it the way you enjoy it.”
