BYO Culture Guide Nov 26 – Dec 2

Take a dive into the intriguing new pieces of group devised and original theatre that is coming out of Sydney. This week we check out some improv, comedy and a musical, but this does not mean we’re giving any gallery shows a miss, returning to one of our favourite venues, Goodspace in Chippendale.

The Overcoat

Nikolai is a nobody in St Petersburg but when he decides to sell everything he owns to buy a new overcoat his life changes forever. Created by siblings Rosemarie, Constantine and Michael Costi this show is a refreshing new perspective on the classic tale by Gogol. Interested? Find out more in our chat with director Constantine.

Scared Scriptless

Enjoy some fresh improv comedy with hilarious scenes and on the spot restrictions. It’s fun and hilarious and despite Scared Scriptless being on every week, you’ll never see the same show twice.

Not Quite Canvas

When five artists come together to create a group show, something beautiful happens. While nothing binds these artists together and there is no central theme to their works, this show invites an exploration of how a diversity of styles can be used to perceive the world. Artists on show include Steve Tierney, Paul Brabanec, Marty Baptist, Rick Vaughan and Huw Vaughan.

Opening 6pm, November 28
