Situated in the lush, mountainous Riverwood Downs is the diamond in the rough; Subsonic. Held annually a mere few weeks in the famously sizzling Aussie summertime, the three day camping festival boasts a stellar lineup of local and international house, techno and hip hop talent.
This year Subsonic saw the likes of homegrown artists among the likes of Murat Kilic, Simon Caldwell, Kato, Stereogamous, Gabby, Dave Stuart, Ben Fester, Scatterbrain, Mantra Collective, Clare Morgan and Adi Toohey, as well as hip hop acts Horrorshow, Oneday and Spit Syndicate.
International electronic heavyweights saw the return of German techno artist Move D, along with Jamaican producer/inventor Lee "Scratch" Perry, and American DJ/producer Michigan-native Seth Troxler. With the stylishly entrancing Honey Dijon headlining the River Stage on the Sunday evening, Subsonic has cemented itself as one of the country's finest music and arts camping festivals to date.
